tonight,,, (life)

ah, my friends,,,

tonight, i look up into an overcast sky,,, and see a wind come,,, lifting away a cloudy thickness, revealing a darkness lit with a host of small and brilliant lights,,, lights that have always been there, waiting.

the suffering, both quiet and loud, of our neighbors, of ourselves, has reached a collective level which we can no longer afford to ignore.

we are on more of a precipice, i feel, than we have even recognized.

it is this very precipice however, that can become the door to the world that could be. a world woven with the unchained imagination of our love-led hearts.

tonight,,, my friends,,, tonight. i feel a shift.

tonight, america chooses for herself a blank slate. a chance to start over. a ground from which to build whatsoever she will.

what would i say to this night sky, these new/old stars i see through eyes rich with these tears?

that each voice, that your voice, is significant and vital.

that there is no place left for hate. we each play our part, even if it is not always recognized by others or even ourselves. the truth is, george bush may have contributed more than anyone else to the election of barack obama.

things are rarely what they seem. let us be slow to judgement, promising to keep open eyes and brave, compassionate hearts as we move forward, together, one step at a time.

let us have patience. no long journey is ever accomplished in a single step.

let us give ourselves room. room to fail, room to grow, room to learn from our mistakes, room to dare to believe in the wildest of our imaginations.

america,,, birthplace of poets, haven of dreamers.

america,,, it is your shining that has always been your beauty, your hope.

america,,, i have loved you from the day i was born.

You write so eloquently what I feel. I think our gestation period has been long and somewhat unseen but there is much more momentum now than can be held back- I could feel it in the collective sigh so much of this country released last night.

I'm always so inspired by your writings and thoughts. Did you ever receive a response from the letter that you shared with us at the Dallas workshop? I thought of you last night when Obama won....

Thank you so much for that, Jesh.

Such beauty in this shift. Your insightful words do much to capture the astounding change that is occuring. Not just because of this hopeful new direction but because so many had the courage to keep steadily believing in the face of such shut-us-down odds. I am so proud of America - and all the rest of this lovely, hopeful world.

Indeed. Seems like the trough-and-crest relationship is found in everything. Bush, then Obama. Who would've thought? The rarity and eloquence of this new America hasn't even sunk in yet. The world is in for a ride that will both test it, and reward it.

And I TOTALLY know which nebula that is. Love it.

Hi,
I have been admiring your work for a while now and was really impressed. I was wondering if you could take the time to glance over my blog and tell me how I could improve my work?
Thank you and God Bless,

Beautiful Jesh. Lets hope, there is at least room for that. and move we should move it and spread it. Let us move. don't just let hope move us so that when there is none we are unmoved. Lets take it and own it, so that it times where there is little to hope for we can pull a little out of our pockets.
